Anne M. GLOVER is the chair of the Judges Panel at European Young Innovator of the Year 2012 awards, on the 26th and 27th of June, at the Young Innovators unconvention, the six finalists for which are being chosen through the pan-European, Online Only Innopitch competition.
On the 26th June at BoZar, the much-awaited European Young Innovator of the Year 2012 awards session will kick off at day one of the Young Innovators Awards unconvention.
Six pan-European finalists, chosen through a pan-European online only competition, the Innopitch will pitch to a panel of well-known EU and US Investors, competing for two prizes, the European Young Innovator of the Year 2012 (jury selection) and the unconventional Innovator award (audience choice).
ANNE GLOVER – Chief Executive and Co-founder, Amadeus Capital Partners Anne Glover is Chief Executive and Co-founder of Amadeus Capital Partners, the European technology investor. Amadeus has £500m of funds under management and has backed over 80 companies covering computer hardware and software, mobile and fixed communications technologies, clean technologies and medical technologies. Ms Glover was Chairman of the British Venture Capital Association (BVCA) from 2004 to 2005, having been a member of the BVCA Council since 1999. She went on to be a member of Sir David Walker’s high level private equity working group in 2007. In 2008 she chaired the Glover committee on government procurement from SMEs. She is currently a non-executive director of the UK government’s Technology Strategy Board, a member of the European Research and Innovation Advisory Board and Vice-Chairman elect of the EVCA VC Council. She is a member of the London Business School’s Private Equity Institute Advisory Board and serves on the boards of Glysure, Covestor Inc, Nomad plc and the Royal Society Enterprise Fund. Before founding Amadeus, Ms Glover was a business angel and Chief Operating Officer of Apax-backed company, Virtuality Group, which listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1993. Early in her career she lived and worked in the US with Cummins Engine Company in manufacturing and Bain & Co. in Boston before returning to the UK to join Apax Partners & Co in 1989, to invest in early stage companies. Ms Glover holds an MA in Metallurgy and Materials Science from Clare College, Cambridge and a Masters in Public and Private Management from Yale. In June 2006 she was awarded a CBE for services to business, and in July 2008 was elected an honorary fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering.
