EYIF heads to Hannover for CeBIT

Yesterday the much awaited CeBIT conference got under way as the EYIF team attended an exclusive Opening Ceremony featuring appearances from both Angela Merkel and Jack Ma, the Founder of Alibaba, among others. It is the beginning of an action-packed week for all in attendance, especially for the startups accompanying EYIF to Hannover.

Our stand in the Scale 11 hall will open with the EU Funding Coffee, which we will offer every morning from Monday to Thursday. Here, the expert EYIF team will be able to discuss the possibilities and options for funding at the EU level. For any startups looking to scale across the EU this is a fantastic opportunity to gain some practical information on how to realise these ambitions. This is complemented by our 2 EU funding workshops which take place on Tuesday and Thursday, where we aim to give access to the details of EU funding.

Among the first events to pay close attention to is the keynote speech which will be delivered by Kumardev Chatterjee, EYIF Founder and President, this morning. He will focus on the opportunities and challenges that face European startups in growing and scaling up. Commencing at 11.40, it is sure to be an insightful talk, interesting to all attending the event.

EYIF is then joined by 11 up-and-coming European startups who will be showcasing their talents and ideas at our stand in 2-hour sessions throughout the week. Among those joining us will be Iddo who are developing a sensor and complimentary app to enable BMX enthusiasts to track their race and freestyle performance. Presto Wi-Fi will also be making an appearance at the EYIF stand as they plan to scale their portable Wi-Fi hotspots concept from 4 EU countries to 28. Certainly none of these showcases are to be missed!

Finally, our live mentoring session will run on Wednesday afternoon. This will be an opportunity for startups to deliver a short one minute pitch to the EYIF team and receive feedback on their idea and their delivery. This will be incredibly useful for any startups who are looking to refine either their concept or their pitch to investors.

So, there is much to look forward to over the coming week and we at EYIF are eager to engage and share our knowledge with the startup community at CeBIT. So don’t be a stranger and come chat with us!
