Meet innogy, a new European green energy business founded in 2016 as a subsidiary of the German energy company RWE, the Germany’s largest power producer, with its headquarters in Essen and an office in Brussels right next to the European Parliament. Since its launch in October 2016, innogy is becoming the most valuable energy company in Germany!
innogy has three business areas: the renewables, retail and grid businesses of the Essen-based RWE and is unconventional because it’s colourful, flexible, full of energy with creative ideas. EYIF strongly shares its belief: “Our planet will be a better place, when we create a sustainable world in which innogy inspires how people live and work.” Today innogy is the biggest startup in Europe and looks not only attractive but also very promising! The video Hello “I am innogy’ will certainly inspire you and you can find out more here, or directly on its website!
EYIF team would like to thank again innogy, our Gold Partner for Unconvention 2017, represented by Dr. Susanne Rompel, Head of EU Representative Office of innogy in Brussels, for her trust and support to the European young innovators! We also would like to thank Thomas Birr, Senior Vice President Innovation & Business Transformation at innogy SE in Essen, for sharing his views at the panel about Autonomous Machines, and also describing the interest and the potential of autonomous drones solutions for the energy sector during the VIP Dinner & first EU Drones Awards ceremony at the European Parliament.
We also thank Dirk Homuth, Project Manager Innovation at RWE in Germany, for presenting an interactive workshop on “Design Thinking” together with Dr. Susanne Rompel to help find better innovative solutions for customers and for our planet, and to Naveed Tariq, Innovation Strategy Consultant at RWE Consulting, for coming especially from Essen to meet our community of young innovators and changemakers during the Unconvention event in Brussels.

We were also excited to meet the innogy team in Berlin right after the Unconvention ended and we are enthusiastic to meet them again on 07 February at their Headquarters and also at the E-world energy fair in Essen in Germany where innogy will be present.
We hope to have the honour of cooperating with innogy on our next Unconvention editions, to support young innovators all over the world and bring innovation and the creative entrepreneurial spirit at the heart of Europe!
