What is the Innovation Masterclass? 

Innovation Masterclass is one of a kind opportunity for young entrepreneurs to present their startup ideas at the Innovation Convention and get an immediate feedback from leading experts in innovation. The Masterclass connects successful executives with aspiring entrepreneurs who want to learn and grasp the knowledge and experience from the best! Young entrepreneurs, owners of startups, had to apply for the Masterclass by sending their startup video presentations. The competition was tough, EYIF received numerous applications, and you will see the best candidates on March 10th


What are the startups pitching? 



EAS-APP provides a user friendly app to improve the first notice of loss process between European insurers and insurees.


Advizee is a mobile application and a website where you can receive or give advice and classes using video call.


It shortens the recruitment period by offering pre recorded videos of the applicants to the employers. Their slogan is: Speak up your CV! 


It is the first multilingual social ecosystem dedicated to cancer patients with the ultimate goal to empower them in order to increase their quality of life and reduce their social isolation.

Who are our mentors?

Xavier Damman

Co-founder and CEO, Storifyxavier

Xavier moved from Belgium in the summer of 2009 with the vision that there are voices on social media that deserve to be published on main stream media. This vision is the foundation of Storify. He founded Tribal in 1999, a site that gathered student content from around Belgium that was published in a 30,000-circulation magazine distributed nationwide to high schools. He built content partnerships with leading brands such as Microsoft and other Belgian companies. Xavier earned a master’s degree with distinction in computer science from Belgium’s Leuven University.

Fabien Petitcolas

Fabien Petitcolas is director for innovation at Microsoft Europe, supporting Microsoft presence in EU policy and political dialogue for and around innovation and R&D.Fabien joined Microsoft Research in 1999 as a researcher within the Security Research Group working on digital watermarking. He then made a transition to Microsoft Research University Relations, managing relationship with academics in the United Kingdom and Ireland. In 2004, he became head of Microsoft Research Intellectual Capital Development programmes, until 2010. These programmes continue to support outstanding scientists in Europe, the Middle East and Africa and include the Microsoft Research PhD Scholarship, European Faculty Fellowship and Inspire programmes.

Bruno Wattenbergh

Chief Operational Officer & Founder, Impulse.BrusselsBruno

Bruno is a recognized personality in the Belgian business circle. Having started his career as a consultant, he moved on and engaged in developing structures dedicated to the creation of enterprises and, in particular, impulse.brussels (ex. Brussels Enterprise Agency), which he manages this day. Otherwise, he is also the President of the Brussels Guarantee Fund whose mission is to warrant bank loans to SMEs (€ 30mio in 2012) and the Chairman of the Microsoft Innovation Center Brussels Executive Committee. He’s well known for sharing his vast knowledge and experiences by giving lectures and classes on the subject of strategy and entrepreneurship at various universities, Solvay Business School and ICHEC. He has been appointed MBA Professor by Solvay Business School and teaches Business Model Innovation. Bruno also has a solid reputation with the media in general. A national radio airs a daily chronicle on the subjects of entrepreneurship, economy and business strategy which he animates. Bruno holds a degree in management, a degree in Labor Sciences, an advanced degree in Management and a Certificate in Strategy and Innovation at the MIT. He has completed a specific Master in Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Netherlands.
