Born in Italy to an Italian father and Canadian mother, she feels fortunate to have grown up in a multicultural environment, having studied at an International school since she was 3. Alessandra holds a Law Degree from Italy and an MSc in Gender, Development and Globalisation from the London School of Economics. She is a native Italian speaker, fluent in English and French and has a good command of Spanish.
She has worked in both the private sector in Italy and London and the European Commission in Brussels, in DG ECHO. She has participated in numerous European and International projects and conferences, always striving for youth’s voice to be heard. She loves travelling, horse-back riding, good food and wine (she is very Italian in this aspect). She is getting used to the Belgian weather, although it will take some time.
