Sheila founded Care.com in 2006 and today, the Company is the largest online care destination in the world with 9.5 million members in more than 16 countries. Sheila has been honoured with numerous media accolades, including one of the “10 Most Powerful Women in Boston Tech” by The Boston Globe’s Innovation Economy (2012); “Tech Luminary Innovation All-Star” by the Boston Business Journal (BBJ, 2012); one of the “100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs” for Goldman Sachs’ Builders and Innovators Summit (2012); “Leader in Diversity” by the BBJ (2012);and one of the “Top 10 Women Entrepreneurs at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit” (2009). She is also a Henry Crown Fellow with the Aspen Institute; was awarded a Marshall Memorial Fellowship and named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, for which she is co-leading a global task force on Women & Technology – WomenUp.org; and received the Ernst & Young “Entrepreneur of the Year Award for New England” in 2010.
